A super vintage tea room with lovely selection of food and a must to try, is Lizzies blend of coffee which is delicious. You can buy or hire the tea sets, cups saucers spoons and embroidery. You can also buy Lizzies home made chutney and coffee. An amazing array of cake is always on display to tept you. Lizzie and her staff are very welcoming and friendly. There is 1940's music on in the background. Seating is also available in a small courtyard in the finer weather.
What a fabulous find! The pot of tea in vintage china and the homemade biscuit still warm from the oven were tremendous. Makes the other eateries in Ashby look mediocre by comparison. Well worth visiting.
Lizzie's Tea Rooms is a very quaint cafe, serving lunches, afternoon tea's and cakes. The food is excellent and Lizzie is a wonderful host. I commend Lizzie's Tea Rooms to all. Excellent.It is also resplendent with China and knick knacks all of which are for sale.The bathroom is lovely and clean.It is situated on the first floor and across the road from the Library and Leisure Centre.
I often have lunch here and have found the service and food to be excellent. They're brilliant at creating the tea shop experience and make you feel like you're royalty. To enhance the tea shop experience they've even been to the Savoy in London to explore the creating of the tea service experience. So, if you have an urge to have afternoon tea at Lizzie's Tearooms do so because it's brilliant. But remember, don't forget to tell Lizzie about the delicious foods you may require so that she can source the items and finally enjoy the experience. Long live the teashop experience
