Unacceptable serviceNot accommodating at all Never go backWere also rushed to finish to get in new bookings
They have a strange way of running a business!I went as part of a party that was pre booked on the phone, when I arrived I was informed that upon booking on the phone they ask what everyone in the entire party wants, the person who had booked couldn't possibly know what 12 people would want two weeks in advance but said she would imagine that most would have carvery, a couple of people had put orders in from the menu and apparently the staff didn't like that so we was advised to eat from the carvery ( if you could call it that). It's not so much a carvery as the staff serving you a very average over priced roast, they is no choice and no vegetarian options.I asked if they was a option for a smaller size but was told you can have a kids plate but we will charge you the same.I wouldn't go again and I wouldn't recommend.
The Tap House is an old pub at the side of a B road. When you pull into the car park you can't see the space behind, there is a lot of parking space. The pub is a free house and has it's own micro brewery. The bar had three Tap House Brewery beers on as well as Bass, a selection of Lagers and some Ciders. The pub also boasts an extensive gin menu. The restaurant was running a Carvery on the day we went, a Friday, and the food was excellent. I had a blue cheese burger from the a la carte menu, my wife had the carvery. The bill for 3 adults and one 7 year old was 44. This included, two pints of beer, two and a half pints of cola, two adult "lunch club" carverys (choice of dessert or starter for a set price) 1 child's meal and the a la carte burger. We thought this was very good value. Staff were very very friendly. Outside there is a covered bar area and a marquee. There is also a small children's play ground. We went back for bonfire and fireworks night with an outdoor BBQ. My only slight reservation is dogs being allowed into the restaurant, but we haven't seen any yet. Our new destination of choice.
My partner and I visited the Tap House for the first time on Friday 26th October. We received a very warm welcome by 'Bob' despite the fact it was very busy. We decided to have a carvery and OMG we have to say it was the best carvery we have ever had!! So good, that we booked for the Sunday!!!The meat was cooked perfectly and all the vegetables were cooked to perfection, we couldn't find fault with anything. All the staff are so friendly including the owner and his son. They take a lot of pride in what they do and are passionate about customer satisfaction. Their standard is definitely 5 star!We will certainly be returning very soon to enjoy your wholesome homecooked food again. Can't wait!!Keep up the good work! G & J
